Ban Lifted on Offshore Drilling: President Bush lifts it

President George Bush called to lift the ban on offshore drilling.  He said the United States  "must produce more oil."  Bush said that high gas prices will be offset with an increase in domestic oil supply.  He said "our nation must produce more oil, and we must start now."

Again Bush said that "Congress must face a hard reality," "Unless members are willing to accept gas prices at todays painful prices or even higher, our nation must produce more oil, and we must start now."

This is an important issue in the presidential election where the $4-a gallon gas has been pressuring the economy.
